Thicc with two c’s
C: Here we go again! Another smoothie style beer for us to try, this time from Imprint Beer Co. This is not like any ordinary smoothie style beer, Imprint Beer Co. has cemented their style of brewing into its own class, a Schmoojee Smoothie! When served chilled this beer is as thick as they come. I couldn’t even begin to tell you what flavors come to mind when it hits your tastebuds, I can clearly read the label on the can but this combination of flavors is just downright tasty. Reavers beware, you need to drink this fast, the longer it sits, you are more prone to the beer separating, giving you two different flavor profiles in your cup, but you can always fix that by swirling your cup around. All in all, this is a solid drink and a perfect beer to give to that friend who “hates” beer to start them on their beer loving journey.
Berry, Berry Marshocolate
My: As J poured and handed me my glass, I couldn’t help but think, “Man, that’s a beautiful beer.” A reddish mauve, as thick as a smoothie should be. Even better, came out of a 30 minute freezer chill. The anticipation was rising, I was excited. I took a big gulp and woah, way too much going on in my mouth right now. It’s not awful, but what am I seriously tasting?! There’s too many flavors. Marshmallow is the strongest for me, then comes the chocolate and the fruitiness and it’s weird. It’s good and bad all at the same time. I do, however, love the consistency texture. This Schmoojee Smoothie isn’t a winner for me, but it’s not a major loser either.
The Schmoojeeist of Smoothies
I’m gonna start by saying this beer is good, really good. I love fruited smoothies, excuse me, schmoojees; this one is heavy on the fruit, raspberry and cherry, according to the can, but that’s not all they packed in here. Did someone say Rocky Road Ice cream? Imprint did, they also said Marshmallow, toasted almonds and double chocolate. I know what you’re thinking, the brewers were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn’t stop to think if they should. This beer is liquid chaos, but it works well. All thriller, no filler. I do, however, recommend you drink it fresh and you drink it fast. Once the beer has a chance to separate it becomes a bit visually unappealing. Cheers Reavers!
