So continues the era of seltzer.
M: I had no intentions in partaking tonight, but after having accepted at least a taste of Study Break’s Beverage Company Orange + Pineapple Seltzer, oh boy, I’ll have one of my own. Had it been beer, I may have passed. The design is appealing to me; matted and well curated with choice of colors and fonts that make me feel like doing exactly what it states. WORK & PLAY. I’d be in the zone! The flavor I chose, is perfect. And although, still not a fan of pineapple, this is, no kidding, so similar to a Cactus Cooler soda, which I love. It’s thirst-quenching for sure, light with a higher ABV that I didn’t expect. Two thumbs up!
C: Study breaks are always something to look forward to, but instead of taking a break from your usual studies here were drinking a seltzer! These guys were “carefully crafted” in Los Angeles and you know what these guys are the embodiment of Los Angeles culture, these cans look simple yet trendy. Now I always enjoy an Arnold Palmer, so the Iced Tea + Lemonade was calling my name. Cracking open this can you can smell the iced tea right away and I couldn’t wait to taste it. Right away, you get the iced tea with lemon zest on the finish. If your drinking Twisted Teas put them down and grab some of these because they’ll be your new favorite, what more can you ask for from a beverage company!
Beverage Company Vibes
J: I gotta be honest, I vetoed the beer today, if I can’t drink one, no one can, this isn’t just the captain going down with the ship, its everyone. All analogies aside Study Breaks aren’t bad, I’m drinking the Raspberry + Lemonade which is heavier on the lemonade but has a nice subtle raspberry finish, what else is their to say, this is an adequate seltzer with a stronger punch than your run of the mill seltzer. I do find myself wanting a little more carbonation in my study break but its not a deal breaker. Man I want a beer but this beverage company will have to do for now.
J: So if you’re following along each one of us had one of the four seltzers that came in the variety pack, I thought it would be fun to make everyone drink a can of the last one, Mint + Lime, I can’t taste a drop of lime, and I wish I did, I don’t like mint, Mint Julep?, no thank you, Mojito?, hard pass, I don’t even like mint gum, give me wintergreen all day, this one’s not for me.
C: As J. said he tossed me a can of this Mint+Lime, and man mint is not my thing. I feel like any mint drinks i might as well brush my teeth for an extended period of time and chase it with a shot you’ll get the same result in flavor. This is one of those drinks if you sip it fast enough you might get away with avoiding the mint but then it comes back with a gotcha’. If you like mint have at it, if not pass it to those people in your group who came empty handed.
M: Toothpaste… refreshing, mint gum… yum, Andes Creme De Menthe Thin Mints… BOMB. This Mint + Lime Study Break flavor… neither of those things. It tasted like a watered down, flat vodka soda with heavy lime and a hint of mint. Very unsatisfying, very not good. To each their own.
